Although the fshing around Desroches is not as good as that surrounding Alphonse it can still be described as outstanding with species including snapper, sailfsh, bonefsh and bluefn trevally. The island is surrounded by reef edges that can be explored on foot or anglers can opt for a three-hour guided fats skiff fshing expedition that takes guests to the outer edges of the reef. The different experiences of Aphonse and Desroches pose a conundrum for many anglers, which one to visit? Some are combining the two with a week of uninterrupted, no-holds-barred fshing on Alphonse followed by a week with the family on Desroches to recuperate. 1. D 2. 1. The five-star Desroaches Island Resort 2. Bedroom suites are opulent spaces that offer every creature comfort. 3. The resort's Dibwa Residence 3. The Sustainability Factor is a five-bedroom retreat with a large infinity pool and personal chef. DESPITE THE VAST DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE PONOI and the Seychelles, both areas have two things in common: outstanding fy fshing opportunities and a commitment to sustainability. Aware of the Seychelles' delicate ecology, both Alphonse and Desroches Islands have DESROCHES & ALPHONSE adopted a strict catch-and-release policy for all landcaught species. The Ponoi River Company has partnered with the Polar Research Institute of Murmansk and the Atlantic Salmon Federation to conduct the largest Atlantic Salmon tagging project of its kind. Around 1,500 salmon are tagged by Ponoi River guides each season with resident scientists recording and assessing data in a long-term effort to preserve the Ponoi's abundant Atlantic Salmon population. There is an uncommon dedication to preserving natural resources, both in the Seychelles and on the Ponoi River. These efforts will provide anglers with phenomenal fy-fshing experiences for many years to come.
