VIGNETTES T Taking Of PILATUS AIRCRAFT INTRODUCES THE PC-24, THE WORLD'S FIRST SUPER VERSATILE JET BY Jack Bacot level of versatility. The private aviation market has yearned for a personal or business jet that could adapt to shorter runways while expanding on comfort and capacity. Switzerland-based Pilatus Aircraft recently introduced the Pilatus PC-24 jet that has its sights set on improving the overall fight experience. In a fast-moving society where time is precious, a jet that can use shorter runways allows for more fexibility, and having more fight options usually means hours saved. Add that the jet has a standard cargo area that appears as if it could hold a small apartment, and you have a jet that can ft all the luggage and four sets of golf clubs and still have room for corporate goodies. You have a jumbo jet in a compact package. "No other business jet on the market offers the same advantages and fight capabilities as our new jet," says Oscar Schwenk, chairman of the board of directors of Pilatus. The PC-24 offers its owners a combination of performance and adaptability 32 Tempus-Magazine.com . Fall 2013 currently unrivaled by other business jets. The cabin interior is available in a wide choice of confgurations, ranging from an executive layout with six to eight passenger seats to a commuter setup with room for up to ten passengers, or custom versions with ample space for passengers and cargo. In addition to the jet's overall versatility, the avionics system is a newly developed state-of-the-art Pilatus Advanced Cockpit Environment, or ACE, system. This was engineered especially to reduce cockpit workloads. Even in the basic version, the Pilatus ACE offers four twelve-inch screens, and a SmartView Synthetic Vision System offers complete fight-planning procedures directly on the screen in a graphic format.
